Budget Light Sticks

Thu Sep 6 2007
These are a low cost alternative to regular size light sticks for signaling. These are cheap, (six for a $1) They are useful for signaling and very compact. however they do not offer enough light for tasks and they are much more fragile

These come in a cardboard tube (no foil) 3 long sticks, two shorter and ne very short. There are also the plastic connectors to connect them together and into shapes, etc

They come in packages of one color (not a rainbow variety pack) I chose blue. All but one worked two, while working, were dimmer than the rest. All could be seen from very far away, none would be enough to read with

I managed to fight the urge to eat a hand full of ecstasy pills and groove to trance music with these looped around my neck. But the ability to connect these into shapes with the included lightweight connectors really ads another layer of value to these 'skinny' glowsticks

I opened the tube at about 8pm (no pic) and all but one of the sticks worked. One was a complete dud. They were all still going strong at midnight and again at 5am they were still useful as a signal device

I was throwing these into the air in the backyard and my dogs were having a ball. But I didn't want them to bite into them. I started thinking about alternative methods of playing with these. I came up with a clear surgical style glove

I put the sticks down the backs of my fingers and turned off the lights. It's not perfect, but you can still move your fingers and the narrow sticks bend and look 'trippy' this might be worthwhile for some Halloween shenanigans, and the dogs ended up having fun biting my hand a bunch of times in the dark, so I wouldn't recommend this trick around Dobermans, unless you can con a burglar into wearing them

It's a lot more work to load all the large pictures.
We are happy to do it if they are requested, but if not we leave them small to save time
